About Me.

     My name is Claudia and I currently live in South Florida. I have been a life long learner and now going through this beautiful journey with my PhD! I graduated from medical school back in 2010 and in that same year I graduated with a masters in health service administration.  Two years later I obtained my MBA from Davenport University. I worked in the clinical setting for several years and due to health set backs, I knew that I needed to take a step back and seek my equally as important and passionate love for academics. 

     I began teaching, which lead me to the administrative side of education.  I fell head over heals for the administrative side of education.  Two years after being hired as an adjunct instructor, I was offered the opportunity to become an associate dean.  I then went on to different schools that were seeking accreditation.  This was my boot camp experience. 

     I learned so much about administration, policies, and accreditation through these small nursing schools. I was blessed to learn about accrediting bodies like ABHES, ACCSC, ACICS.  One fine day, I decided to apply to the current university that I work for and I knew that on a personal level I was applying for a demotion, Online Trainer.  I had been a Dean of Academics, Director of General Education, Associate Dean of General Education and I thought, all this is great but none of the schools that I had worked for were truly accredited.  My thought process was, I am a hard, dedicated, and passionate worker.  I will apply and accept the position. 

     Eventually, with time, I may be promoted once they see what I can offer.  I started in 09/2020 as an online trainer.  1 month later, I was promoted to director of student services.  One year after that I was promoted to Dean of Faculty. I began the position as dean of faculty with 15 online instructors. One year and a half later I have hired 120 new faculty, fully trained to navigate Blackboard.  The faculty's performance is amazing.  They are meeting expectations, students are happy and we are retaining and engaging students. 

     It is a blessing and a very beautiful experience, thus far. I would love to complete my PhD and as an online dean, possible navigate into uncharted territory within my position in developing and enhancing curriculum.

I have been married for almost 20 years.  The most wonderful man alive.  This year we celebrated our 20th anniversary in Paris! What a beautiful city, I absolutely fell in love with Paris and I hope to go back very soon! 

     I am a mother of two beautiful children.  I have a bouncy little girl who just finished first grade! Loves to dance, gymnastics and is such a mama's girl. I have a a teenager who out of thin air woke up one morning and was almost 6 feet tall and will be starting high school in a month. He is a great  boy, studies hard and loves to play with his x-box.

     I have two little tea cup yorkie's who cuddle and play endlessly. I work during the day administratively, twice a week I teach at the State College. I come home to see my babies both human and furry little ones, spend time with my hubby, my parents, and my brothers, and finally study for my PhD. I love my family, my jobs, and my education.
